We welcome back to the interview room Bobina who comes in fresh from the release of his latest artist album 'Rocket Ride'...
Having set the scene alight with his last artist album Russian trance producer Bobina does nothing top douse the flames with his latest artist long player. 'Rocket Ride' should set them burning even more with a ten track offering pushing the creative boundaries and fusing new sounds in with Bobina's emphatic style. His climb up the ranks to be today's self acclaimed biggest trance DJ in Russia has been one strung with outstanding releases. He's been globetrotting to parts all over the globe over the recent year, which you may have had a sneak peek at with his TV diary, offering a glimpse of just what Bobina does before a gig. He's put together a nice mixture with his latest artist album and it would be rude not to have a word wouldn't it?
i:Vibes: You reached the DJ Mag TOP 100 at 25th place in 2010. Do you feel with your DJing and new album Rocket Ride that you might climb higher up the DJ Mag Top 100 in 2011?
Bobina: No I don't as I never actually think about my position ;-)
i:Vibes: You had a four year break between albums Catchy and Again and now three years between Again and Rocket Ride. How important for you is it as an artist to take some years before realizing a new album instead of each year?
Bobina: I just release the CD when I think its time. Don't think it's important as every artist can do different ways.
i:Vibes: When you start a new album, do you look back on the album before to think it what direction you want to go with the current new album?
Bobina: Never, I just do the music for myself and never think about the styles.
i:Vibes: Does the album name Rocket Ride have an important meaning to you? Why did you name it this?
Bobina: Of cause, this year in Russia we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Yury Gagarins flight into Cosmos.
i:Vibes: How would you describe Rocket Ride? What did you want to accomplish musically with this album?
Bobina: It’s the listeners will decide ;-) I describe it simple: electronic music.
i:Vibes: You start the album with Here Comes the light? It has a very nice dramatic piano-lined, orchestral-hit overture. In what movie could you imagine putting this into?
Bobina: Hm, probably in the new episode of Terminator? I clearly can imagine the end of that movie with such melody.
i:Vibes: I like Visible Touch very much. What was most difficult in getting this track perfect?
Bobina: I like this tune too, thanks but I don't really know how to answer your question as it wasn't so difficult.
i:Vibes: When you had finished 'You belong to me'ť, Did you ever think that this track would become such a big dance hit? What makes it so appealing to the masses?
Bobina: Well that time I just liked it. Of course I never think how big tune will be when I finish it.
i:Vibes: Next up is the album title track “Rocket Ride. When you listen to it, where do imagine yourself traveling to in your rocket?
Bobina: Yes, absolutely. That's why it was called Rocket Ride.
i:Vibes: The alum concludes with Scream Dream which you produced with Ilya Soloviev. What were the duties of you too on this track in the studio? What did you do and what did Ilya Soloviev do to make the track so energetic?
Bobina: We actually met to make the Global Gathering Anthem. Check it on www.bobina.tv . I had that melody and showed it to Ilya. And we decided to make another tune together. Always wanted to finish the CD with 140 BPM tune.
i:Vibes: What do you want trance lovers around the world to remember most about the album Rocket Ride?
Bobina: Of course, the cover haha. Joke. The music, And thanks for reading this. I really hope u liked the album. Lets stay in touch in my twitter as well twitter.com/bobinamusic
