Boom Jinx comes together with Oliver Smith on Anjunabeats for some Piano laced uplifting trance with remixes from jaytech and Van der Vleuten. This one is smoking hot and should send shivers down your spine...

Hot off the heels of our Interview with Boom Jinx comes his brand new single on Anjunabeats. The man behind the name is Øistein Johan Eide and you may remember him from an earlier release on the same lebel called 'Eternal Reminiscence' which was a quite beautifully uplifting piece of Trance. They are soft to the touch but powerful with its punch. You can expect more of the same with this new release but a twist of variation and a helping hand by Oliver Smith. The effect is the same though with the original being a real uplifter. The remixes by Jaytech and Van Der Vlenten offer a pleasant variation.

:: Original Mix
:: Volume 6 Edit
:: Jaytech Remix
:: Van der Vleuten's Sunset Remix

The Original Mix is where the fun begins and should be the uplifting dose of audio you've been looking for. The opening of the track starts off with a solid beat and a gritty scuff on the kicks. The track breaks for a short second and in rips the bass groove that’s got a real techy edge with its deep ripping chord changes. Its got that soft melodic feel to it and even more so when the Piano melody tinkers in the background. The sweeping backing sounds take hold with the beat cut and in come sthe Piano sequence. It's soft and inviting then builds with backing sounds. When it begins to flow properly in feeds a breakbeat style splash kick to create the atmosphere. The beat returns with the bass groove creating the uplifting feeling and the process is complete when the melody comes in over the top.

Things are taking up a notch ever so slightly for the Volume 6 Edit which was featured on Anjunabeats last label compilation, the name gave it away really. The subtle changes made to this version make it the better mix in my opinion. The beat is stronger and feels more rigid with its build. There are little rumbles and rolls in the background that flow along with the main thump and things flow altogether a lot more smoothly. There is a real punch on the kicks and the deep groove that led the original is there but a bit more aggressive. The main Piano melody that is rich with uplifting emotion remains the same but the uplifting scales get heavier before the main melody with a drum roll introducing things. The Piano really works with this and the key changes along with the building grooves gel nicely.

Jaytech has been on fire since he burst onto the scene form nowhere with a flow of cracking releases last year like 'Pepe's Garden' and his debut artist album 'Everything Is O.K.'. He has out a sparkling touch into his remix here with the pace touched down a little and introducing a bright positive style of sound with the mix. The melody is the same in sequence but has a sparkle in there that’s bright and energetic. The uplifting feel is still there with deep chord changes and sweeping bass that feel bright and breezy. You could say this mix edges more on the house edge than uplifting trance but its Jaytechs style injecting into things here.

Here's a guy I have never heard off in the form of Van Der Vleuten with this is the first production work I've heard from him. This mix is just Trance and although at first glance did not strike me as anything special its not a badly worked remix. The intro is soft sounding with a nice build using tingling chords and subtly edging in the melodies. The piano is the backseat driver in this as it’s the synth changes that do the work to create the uplifting feel in here.

Conclusion:
The Anjunabeats / Boom Jinx partnership, with Oliver Smith has done it again in creating another melody rich Trance record that’s packed with feeling. The original and the Volume 6 edit especially should be the tracks you should be checking out in here. Nice steady remixes though that may be worth having a nosey at.
