A double track EP from the busy producer Tempo Giusto on the fresh new Echelon Records...
:: Tempo Giusto - The Prophecy EP :: Echelon Records :: ER003
1) The Prophecy 'The Prophecy' reveals itself initially as a restrained, proggy piece with a tentative bass and simple beats and percussion. However a mysterious almost 'psy' sounding synth is brought in, playing short hits every now and again. Along with a few dark melodic notes, this psy influence becomes more pronounced but without the need for a high BPM or frantic bassline. The breakdown is used as a short melodic break, but the hits of synth and that cool and groovy bass drop back in to repossess and darken the mood and take you out to the end of the track.
2) Living On The Edge 'Living On The Edge' takes on a more standard trancey mold. The off beat, slightly bouncy bass and pretty unique perky sounding synths give this one a bright and pleasant feeling. This leads on to a bit of a synth duet featuring an array of intertwined notes which moves the whole thing up a level from the simple being it was before into a more complex and tuneful beast. The one thing that sticks with me throughout this production is that happy, feel-good feeling though.
