The members of Shoreditch house are in for a treat as Kate Simko and the London Electronic Orchestra touch down for a special live show in anticipation of their forthcoming album together...
Shoreditch House extends a warm welcome to Kate Simko & London Electronic Orchestra, making their East London debut at the members club on the 20th of August. As founder of the LEO, Kate merges her background as a classical pianist and electronic music producer. After getting her start DJing Friday nights on Chicago's WNUR radio station, Kate has since released her unique style of melodic house on top labels such as Ghostly, Get Physical, Art Department’s No.19, and Leftroom. Next up is Kate’s eagerly awaited EP with the London Electronic Orchestra releasing this fall on The Vinyl Factory, along with a collaboration with Jamie Jones ft. London Electronic Orchestra set for release August 28th on Jones’ Emerald City.
In 2014, Kate completed a masters degree in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music, where she formed the LEO. Since then the LEO has created a buzz with appearances at a number of high profile events, including the National Gallery, iTunes Festival at the Roundhouse, LEAF festival, and Boiler Room in Ibiza. The LEO live show is an inimitable fusion of lush strings weaving in-and-out of synths and loose grooved beats, bringing classical music’s most ornate instruments back to the forefront. This stunning project captures something deep within the audience, combining the rolling electronic groove of the dance floor with the emotion and power of classical instrumentation. Kate Simko & London Electronic Orchestra will release their first full-length album in the spring along with making appearances this summer at Latitude Festival, ‘Heart’ in Ibiza, and Bestival.
Accompanying Kate Simko and the LEO will be one of London’s finest DJ’s, Geddes. With a career spanning over a decade mastering his craft and more recently launching his successful label murmur and London party NoFitState, Geddes will be performing an eclectic house and disco set showcasing why he is intrinsic to London’s music culture.
August 20th’s performance will take place in an idyllic and enchanting location like no other in London. Intimacy meets elegance at Shoreditch House’s picturesque rooftop garden, where Kate Simko & London Electronic Orchestra will provide an intimate performance. Seamlessly intertwining harp, violins, cellos, upright bass with synthesizers and beats, the LEO live set is a summer fusion not to be missed.
