The Dark side off Discover has been knocking out tunes now for over 10 years and to celebrate the labels 100th release Oberon has mixed together a very special compilation highlight what the dark is all about…
In just over 10 short years Discover Dark has gone from being an experimental sister label for the slightly harder musical offerings from the "Discover Red" artists to a genre defining imprint that now reaches its centenary of releases.
Few labels can claim to have defined a genre but Discover Dark can certainly make that claim.
Discover Dark quickly established a unique sound which embraced elements from both the trance and techno genres and helped to create the sub-genre we now refer to as Tech Trance.
The label's discography reads like a who's who of the underground trance scene. The likes of John O'Callaghan, John Askew, Sean Tyas and Matt Hardwick sit beside Lisa Lashes, Indecent Noise, Gary Maguire and Peter Plaznik to name but a few.
With head-honcho Oberon leading the way, the label continues to top the charts and playlists of the worlds best DJ's and coolest download stores. Discover Dark 100 is a celebration of new meets old and we have opened up the vaults to deliver 18 exclusive remixes of some of the biggest tracks in the catalogue. Kearney, O'Callaghan, Askew, Tyas and the rest get the remix treatment by some of the very best talent around. Liam Wilson, Johan Ekman, Oberon, Plaznik, Estigma - the list goes on!
Oberon grabs these remixes by the horns and wrestles them into the heavyweight mix that you have before you. So sit back, enjoy the ride and bring on the next 100.
