Coming out shortly on Perfecto Fluoro in the next few weeks will be the brand new single from Activa called 'Antimatter'. For those who wonder where the old sound of trance has gone in today's genre, Activa has kindly given us all a reminder...
Over the past few months there have been some big changes in the work place for Activa having left the Discover label he build his reputation up with and moved over to Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto label. I've been very excited by the music coming out of the Perfecto labels for the past few years now and in particular its revival of one if most treasures imprints in Perfecto Fluoro. The Fluoro sound is everything a trance fan would want in their music and its style is one which sits in perfectly with the productions of Activa. This is his first solo release on the Fluoro label and it’s a dam good one.

Cast your ears back to the late nineties with the likes of a Space Manoeuvres and Tilt then get ready for what that sound is like today with ‘Antimatter’. It’s got an old style flavour about it from the main beat to swiftly sweeping riffs. It’s even got a slight touch of the early Andy Moor about it with a whiteroom inspired vocal. This track seems to draw influence from a number of trance sounds with Activa putting a very well polished final product out that gleams in the sunshine. This is modern day 99 style trance and I like it, I like it a lot!
Conclusion:
In short, a stunning track from Activa. You never doubt the quality of an Activa release and comparing this to his early productions his direction in sound has definitely gone down the right path. Another example of why the Perfecto Fluoro label is so good and the first off many on the label from Activa. Expect this one to hit the online download shops in the next few weeks.
