It's a debut release for trance new comer Leandros Liasides, otherwise known as Nyx on Monster Tunes with his brand new uplifting track 'Kyro'...

The trance scene is awash of new faces and talent these days with new names popping out of the woodwork on a weekly basis. One such new talent is a gentleman called Leandros Liasides, who otherwise produces as Nyx. He is currently based in London, a place where he has grown up and embraced the musical influences of the likes of John Askew, Simon Patteron, Sean Tyas and Activa. His big break came with releases on Borderland Music, the brainchild of Rob Stevenson, aka Activa, ‘Backfire’ and ‘For All We Know’. He has a preference the for uplifting and psy styles of trance, which are very evident in his productions. His debut release on Monster Tunes has a bit of an Askew whiff about it blended with an Activa coating but original in its own right.

:: Original Mix
:: Radio Edit

The category of trance at 138bpm is well and truly alive, you just need to be pointed out where to find it sometimes with today’s over influx of wishy washy slow beats. ‘Kyro’ is one such tune that’s bursting to the brim with swift beats and packs out a very addictive melody. It’s a single in style which reminds me of early John Askew works, slightly stripped down with minimal backing percussion drowning out the rhythm. Things do get a little gritty in parts of this track with an electric sequence before resuming the pumping beats and acidic bass line. This is not a track that comes across as revolutionary but delivers and evolution of the uplifting trance sound Askew used to knock out almost a decade ago.

Conclusion:
A very good debut for Nyx on Monster Tunes, who has got a lot of support with this single and is a producer with a very bright future if he keeps knocking them out like this.
