The first release on a new label is always one which gets a lot of opinion thrown its way. Thankfully, this one's from a very talented polish producer by the name of Carlo Calabro who puts his signature sound on show for his label's first outing...

If you’ve not heard of Carlo Calabro yet then here’s the perfect starter. It was during a frantic episode of Christopher Lawrence’s ‘Rush Hour’ radio that I had my first taste of Calabro and with the likes of Tiesto, Markus Schulz, Rank 1 and Lange supporting his records over the past two years it’s a taste that’s been going down well with others to. You would put his style on the tech driven pile of trance with his creative flair for knocking up seriously addictive beat patterns to test your speakers. With the news of his very own label a month or so ago it was with great interest when the first release came through the digital post box here at i:Vibes. It may well be just the single EP but it’s a mighty fine one from this ever evolving new name from Poland.

:: Rainman

This is a very good outing for Calabro as he does have a signature style of sound if you’ve ever heard any of his previous releases. Rainman has an addictive rough cut edge to it that makes it stand out for me with a tough, no nonsense main riff that’s got all the ingredients to beef up your set. His fine detail for production here is al on show with long winded strings dropping off a dark and moody atmosphere. He’s pushed in a very bass effected vocal which you can’t really say is a vocal but adds a nice effect to the whole track. It’s the way he hits you with the beat patterns, double kicks and plays with the addictive main beat which hides a bubbling bass line underneath. The breakdown is very dark with deep key changes giving the main riff on top a very edgy feel. It’s tough trance with a tech edge in a production style very unique to Carlo.

Conclusion:
You might think his production desk got out of bed the wrong side when Carlo sat behind it to piece together this little gem. It's a trance fused tech induced moody track with plenty of atmosphere on the low ends. Carlo Calabro's new label gets off from the ground running and it’s by time you checked out this Polish talent, who may I just add is a very good DJ with his own radio show ‘Pushing The Bar’, broadcast every month. Head over to his web site to check that out. This one hits the stores on the 11th!
