The very latest solo single release from Simon Patterson has finally seen the light of day after littering every major trance radio show over the past month. For good reason to, here's why you should call a taxi...

Ever since he cut away from the Dogzilla project it’s been onwards and upwards for energetic trance producer Simon Patterson. He has had a string of smoking hot productions over the past year with hum dingers like 'Thump', 'Always' and his most recent solo release 'Miss You'. His latest has been doing the rounds in just about every major trance music radio show and popping into top ten charts of the biggest DJ's and not long before it starts popping up on this summer dance compilations. His 'Miss You' record is still hitting the spot and has been feature of Sander's Trance Energy compilation and Lange's new spring edition of 'Intercity'. His latest is on the Dutch label Spinnin’ Records Reset imprint and if you have not heard it, you really must!

:: Taxi (Original Mix)

You used to expect some tech driven influence in Simon's productions but in recent times he has gone for a more uplifting feel. He surrounds that uplift within a thunderous build up of aggressive bass lines and hard pounding drums. Taxi does nothing to break the mould and follows the same structure which you have a feeling anyway from the first kick drum. On the lead the warm up for the main bass line that’s about to be un leash is dubbed down before a 'May I have your attention' vocal sample, in typical Patterson style breaks it for a moment then unloads the bass line into the track. Aggressive, angry and full of energy with crisp percussion, stutter bars on the lead and short breaks that feed in the ever building elements. The uplifting heart of the track pops in early with a sweetly written sythn melody that's backed by bubbling atmosphere, sweeping from one speaker to the next. The main melody that comes in after is a pure euphoric joy to hear and comes in softly from almost silence. It’s the piano melody that he puts on top of these layers that really get the track going and building keys that upload the melody fully. It's pure joy to the ear drums and in expect Patterson style, cuts away to the pounding bass line and deep thumpiung kick drum that started it all off in the first place.

Conclusion:
Fantastic track, as if you would expect anything less from a producer with the reputation like Simon Patterson's at the moment. He has for sure defined his own style with his trance releases of late and hits the sweet stop yet again with taxi!
