The official Trance Energy anthem for this year’s epic event is by none other than Sander Van Doorn. 'Renegade' is the name and a spooky kind of production is the game...

There seems to be no end of outstanding single track EP's from Sander coming out of his own Doorn records imprint at the moment, all crafted together by him. After the huge success of 'Bastillion', and the follow up 'Ninety', which was better still we have had more recently 'Diasy' on the Doorn records train. The next has a little bit more than just a new Sander Van Doorn track about it as 'Renegade' is the official anthem for this year's Trance Energy event. The anthem has a rich history with over nine artists from the world of trance over the past ten years putting their name to it. It is a record that just has to be a little bit special and who better to turn to than Sander van Doorn who is more than equipped with the skills to do just that.

:: Renegade

Creativity is one think Sander is never short of and it's one thing he has injected into Renegade. Things may not be quite what you would expect to find when you first pout this in the CD player and whack the play button. The opening lead is all together quite spooky with a soft humming bass line layered underneath a punchy beat and stifling kicks and snares. The overall vibe is very laid back at the start with a quirky chord dropping in with a little hint of tech snyth that’s coming next. It creates a little bit a spooky flavour to the track I find. When the beat cuts and that riff drops, with it chopping up and flowing back into a melody with the beats, it may not only surprise you but make sense in the overall view of things. One of the quirkiest selection of sounds I have heard in a trance record that has a soft but yet rough tech edge to it. It's perfect for those big arenas as I can imagine the room going wild when that melody drops.

Conclusion:
I don’t think it’s his strongest release so far but its one that is sure to get the ears pricked up on edge. Quite a quirky edge to it but that tech style at the heart we all know and love by Sander. Quite a fitting anthem for what will quite possible be the best Trance Energy yet!
