 25 years ago Mondo Records was created; the man at the controls was and still is a very nice chap called Darren Tate. To mark this milestone, Mondo are releasing a double LP brimmed full of some of their classic recordings…
They remain one of the very best independent labels in the world and have been one of my favourites since their inception. Mondo Records run by the very talented Darren Tate has been pumping out the beats for the past 25 years. Over that time they have had some simply stunning releases from singles, compilations and artist albums.
The range of talent that has featured on the label makes an impressive list. The projects Darren has been behind have made a lasting footprint on the labels legacy and over the past 25 years his DT8 and home branded tunes have been some of the highlights. After such a period of time it’s with great pleasure to see a physical release from such a legendary label.
The Mondo Records 25 EP bring together 8 of the finest creations to be released on the label. Spread over two Vinyls there are tracks from Darren Tate, his alter ego DT8, one track he created with the ‘Judge’ Judge Jules under the Angelic name and of course a remix of the collaboration he did with Jono Grant ‘Let The Light Shine In’. Nitrous Oxide is the remixed weapon of choice for this release. Just to note, the two tracks featured from DT8 are brand new exclusives never before seen a release on any format.
Every track on this collection is in its full unmolested glory, which from the notes makes the ‘It’s My Turn’ from Angelic the first ever commercial release of the full edition.
