 Six days of pure Defected action awaits you at this years Croatia event in August and this weekend the main man at the label Wez Saunders has a few words on it…
Not long to go now until our 2023 edition of Defected Croatia (3rd - 8th August 2023, less than 100 days now!). We’ve curated a very special week for you all, including some exciting new artist to debut, stage takeovers and exciting pop-ups that we can’t wait for you to see.
Besides you, our incredible community, it’s the talent that makes the festival what it is. I’m excited to welcome the likes of Jeff Mills, Hannah Wants, Shimza, Chaos In The CBD, Olive F, Melon Bomb and Mr Scruff as well as Makez, Riton, Aroop Roy and Kyle Hall plus many more set to play for the first time on the Adriatic coast this August.
Defected Croatia really is the opportunity for us to showcase artists and labels from across the dance music spectrum and so this year we’re excited to add UK Garage connoisseur Conducta alongside Sammy Virji. Another major stage debut for 2023 will be one of Europe’s most acclaimed labels, Ed Banger Records, which will host a line-up of exciting talent including Breakbot & Irfane and festival first-timers Louise Chen, Erol Alkan, Yasmin and Myd. Retuning for another year will also be Carl Craig and his imprint Detroit Loves with more exciting takeovers due to be announced shortly.
We want to bring a totally unique experience to Croatia this year, and so we’ve teamed up with the incredibly talented artist Kiddy Smile to deliver the festival’s very first live dance competition. Lead by Glitterbox, Kiddy and his community of performers will present GlitterWhack, a dance takeover that will celebrate the dance style of whacking and its history within disco’s queer and inclusive dancefloors. As you can see, we’ve got some great activity planned over the 6 days - the team here at Defected HQ have been working hard on making our takeover at The Garden resort a memorable one. There are only 100 Tier 3 Tickets left – further information on this and group packages can be found on our dedicated Croatia website here. We’ve also introduced Klarna for anyone wanting to break down the cost.
