Mark Knight wants to explain some more, so this video by him gives you more info about #RESET.

“AFTER TEN YEARS, I WANTED TO SHOW THE WORLD WHAT WE STAND FOR MUSICALLY. AND THAT’S WHAT #RESET IS ALL ABOUT.” – MARK KNIGHT

Press release:

After over a decade in the music industry, Toolroom is going back to its roots. We’re reigniting our passion for House music. Over the past ten years, we’ve signed and even discovered some legendary artists; we’ve led the way in an ever-changing industry, developing artists and even evolving ourselves. Now it’s time for Toolroom to enter a new phase; it’s time for #RESET.

#RESET is about refocusing; it’s about credible House music. We have a strong musical vision, tight artist roster, new album series and new events concept. It’s a new beginning, the start of a new journey, and we want to share it with you.

THE ARTIST ROSTER
We’ve stripped back and refocused our roster with artists we’re passionate about working with. We have an exciting array of artists, including Weiss, whose penchant for deep jacking grooves, warm rumbling subs, sweet sharp percussion and delicate vocal treatment have had us mesmerised from day 1. This is an artist we’re very proud to support:

“I’ve known the guys at Toolroom for a long time… Where they are going musically is fresh; it’s exciting. Toolroom is my label. It’s my home and it’s where I’m proud to be.”

Similarly, Argentinian Tech talent, Adrian Hour’s ability to make unique and unforgettable main room Techno means he’s one artist that stands head and shoulders above the rest:

“Toolroom is a natural home for me because… they gave me that opportunity that another labels didn’t… Toolroom has the chance to release a big Techno track, or big House track, or Deep House, etc. And that is what I like – creative freedom.”

Being blessed with the freedom to release across a wide spectrum has allowed us to build close relationships with an exciting list of artists, including London-based duo Tough Love, whose commitment to producing the freshest House cuts has seen them develop a cult following and rapidly rise through the ranks of the UK House scene. Watch out for some big news concerning these guys coming very soon.

Also, our long-term label mates Prok & Fitch and Rene Amesz have remained pivotal, contributing hugely successful singles and album tracks, as well as regularly joining us at our events worldwide. An increasingly important member of our roster, musical polymath and turntablist extraordinaire Doorly remains central to our sound, alongside US one-to-watch Amtrac, who has developed a strong following through relentless touring and consistent releases, and Beatport top 10 regular Bontan. We’ll also be developing artists and bringing them into the Toolroom family – more news on these exciting artists to come soon.

Finally, our roster would not be complete without our label leader Mark Knight. His ability to straddle the underground and commercial sounds is unparalleled. With a decade’s worth of experience leading the label and many, many more years’ experience in production and touring, he is the perfect figurehead, alongside the rest of the Toolroom team, to guide our artists and support and encourage our roster, as he says:

“It’s going to be a great time for dance music over the coming years. And we’re going to be right at the centre of that, trust me.”

‘TOOLROOM LIVE 01’ THE ALBUM
‘Toolroom Live’ is a brand new album concept where we can highlight our key artists, present new tracks, and give our fans a taste of the live experience. ‘Toolroom Live 01’ is the album that cements our key figures and defines our musical space. Three mixes from Mark Knight, Weiss and Adrian Hour take you from underground House music right through to main room Techno, highlighting the vast musical spectrum we are privileged to occupy. It’s also a chance to shine a spotlight on our 3 core artists who will be leading the label into the next ten years.

TOOLROOM LIVE EVENTS
To truly get a feel of the #RESET concept, it’s best to experience it in a live arena and that’s where our brand new events concept fits in. Toolroom Live brings alignment between our musical vision, musical output and events. We’ll be focusing on our roster to create some unforgettable nights. The team at Toolroom and our artists are really excited to share #RESET with you and hope you can join us on our Toolroom Live Tour. Join us on this new and exciting journey.

#RESET
