Gather a taste of what to expect from the nice housey beats of Kidnap with his second artist album out later this year on the new single ‘Overgrown’ out this Friday…
Kidnap, London producer/DJ/multi-instrumentalist/lyricist, is back with new single ‘Overgrown’ (ft frequent collab partner Leo Stannard), heralding his upcoming second studio LP, out later this year (date & title TBA) on [PIAS] Électronique. After the double-edged impact on his life of pandemic isolation and new baby, the album will chronicle the turning point from nostalgia for his partying days playing 100+ shows a year at top venues worldwide and releasing hits on Anjunadeep, Armada…, to welcoming his new role as a young father with a burst of creativity and a slew of new songs and club-enhancing cuts. ‘Overgrown’ ft. Leo Stannard: A swift, breaksy house beat interwoven with layers of melodic choral effects, organ chords and heart-catching guitar notes support Stannard’s voice with its yearning, emotional edge showcasing the wistful lyrics. Says Kidnap aka Matt Relton, ‘’Overgrown’ is about missing the blood brother connections you make when you're young and partying hard – sad at the passing of those times, gratitude to have been granted them.’ The former ‘Kidnap Kid’ (after a youthful prank kidnap of himself blew up into a major incident) has grown, and is still growing, as is his fanbase and talent. So much more to come in the near future…
