The first taster from Darren Tate's new Horizon's album has arrived with his new single on Mondo Recordings, 'The Eternal'. It's a soulful blend of progression and sublime grooves to put pleasure into the air drums...
There is a new horizon coming soon from Darren Tate. After two very successful and inspiring volumes in his artist album series he is soon to drop edition number three. His last came in 2009 so his latest one is indeed due and having done a little investigational work he is well underway with the brand new one. The hint that its due out soon is the appearance of his brand new single on Mondo Recordings, his very own label. Weather it is a track that will feature on his new album remains to be seen but its one which will leave you itching to get your ears round it. ‘The Eternal’ is the new masterpiece from Darren Tate, one of the scenes most talented electronic craftsman who also works with Ken Lampl composing film scores under the name ‘Brainstorm’. He’s got quite a talent for composition, production and slamming one tune into the next without you noticing. What can you expect to find with ‘The Eternal’ then? Good things, that’s what.
:: Original Mix :: Big Piano Mix
You have a choice of two directions with this new single. The original mix takes the sublime, soft and delicate production sound of Darren and fuses an immensely powerful sweeping chord on top of a deep bass line. This is a track full of atmosphere and air with a slight vocal sample touch adding the depth to even greater heights. With Darren’s softly tinted beat driving through the progressive feel to this the breakdown that comes in is a pure joy. While things are relaxed and the strings build it’s when everything comes together you feel you full power of Darren’s airy melody. This is quite beautiful and relaxing trance from Darren who delivers time and time again with his new tracks.
If things just don’t seem as uplifting for you with the original then drop on the Big Piano Mix as Darren has really beefed things up with a corking piano riff that takes control right from the start of the track. The paino keys in the lead touch up the energy along with modified beat patterns and tweaks on the bass line. The huge atmosphere may be still hiding underneath but it’s the piano that drops first with the break and hits the right chord changes. This one keeps building, dropping but eventually after a powerful main break hits you full on the face with uplifting effect.
Conclusion:
Once again the production skills of Darren Tate have been put to use with a very powerful progressive trance mix. The two shades on offer here are both fantastic. if you like a little soft touch then the original's fort you but if your after that big main hook line, head for Darren's piano mix.
