The best electronic music in Amsterdam’s finest venues

Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has the broadest festival program in the electronic music scene with an abundance of new artists, new music and special program items. We expect over 50,000 national and international visitors. In the daytime, around 1,800 professionals from the industry will meet at the ADE conference.

Arthur Baker (US), Dave Clarke (UK), Tiefschwarz (D), Bugz in the Attic (UK) and Benny Benassi (I) are among the prolific electronic and dance music artists who will gather during this years ADE, organised by Buma Cultuur. From Thursday 19 till Saturday 21 October ADE will defend its title as the world's biggest club festival providing over 400 DJs/acts in 40 clubs in Amsterdam.

The ADE has continued to rise as a name on the international electronic music calendar. In 2005, well over 12.000 people travelled to Amsterdam to visit ADE shows. "With the increased mobility of people in Europe, it’s fairly easy to take a plane from London or Berlin", says ADE general manager Richard Zijlma: "With the publicity we've had in Germany and the UK in particular, we're expecting a very significant rise in the amount of punters coming over - at least 25.000.".

Ranging in genre from deep techno and electro to urban crossover, and from underground avant-garde to massive club anthem house, the ADE features established artists but also has a keen eye for new talent and new music. Acts confirmed include Arthur Baker (US), Dave Clarke (UK), Baby Dee (US), Tiefschwarz (D), Andy Barlow (Lamb, UK), Planet Pendulum (UK), DJ Benny Benassi (I), Zoot Woman (UK), Gene Farris (US), Sneakthief (D/CAN), Bugz in the Attic (UK), Postman (NL), Fedde le Grand (NL), Mweslee (E), Gregor Salto (NL), Streamer (NL), DJ Spooky (US), Kelpe (UK), Nuno dos Santos (NL), Oxia (F), DJ Joy de la Rosa (E/NL), Gerry Arling’s Bombay Connection Sitar Band feat. Kypski (NL), Martin Solveig (F), Rex the Dog (UK), Joost van Bellen (NL).

Day Program
The ADE day-time conference seems to be definitely established as the meeting place for the international electronic and dance scene, and is expected to sell out. With speakers such as Pete Tong, Dave Clarke, Josh Wink and panels like ‘Games, Advertising & Electronic Music, Does it Blend?!’, ‘The Role of the Manager’, ‘The Converse of Communication, the Evolution of Media’, ‘The Artist Debate’ and ‘The Digital Divide’ ADE rounds off like always, bringing business and knowledge to the next level. Surrounded by 1800 professionals ADE is networking heaven for those who run the dance scene professionally.
