Radio 1's essential mix keeps attracting the big names to the turntables and this saturday welcomes Paul Oakenfold back to Radio 1.
The essential mix on Radio 1 has been broadcasting for years now and has seen some of the biggest names in dance music showcase their talents over the two hour slot the show has on Sunday mornings. Each week they welcome a different artist to put together two hours of free flowing music to pump up your very late Saturday nights and early Sunday mornings.
This Saturday the legend that is Paul Oakenfold returns to the essential mix. He's busy promoting his new artist album 'A Lively Mind' right now which is due out in a few weeks. He has recently re-launched his official web site and his latest single Faster Kill Pussycat is currently doing the rounds and going down very well form what I hear. His drive to release and push new music never seems to end and his new album looks one to really watch out for.
His mix this Saturday will be one not to be missed but if you do you can hear it for seven days after on the Radio 1 show selector which broadcasts the previous show until a new one is put out on air.
Upcoming Essential Mixes
April 30th: Paul Oakenfold
7th May: Gabriel & Dresden
14th May: Radio 1's Big Weekend
21st May: MYNC
The Essential Mix is broadcast on UK radio station Radio 1 every Sunday between 1AM and 3AM. The mix can be tuned into by anyone in the world using the live stream on the Radio 1 site.
