The third release from the “Pinkstar House Session” label entitled Deep Inside by L.O.B. is about to be released. Find out if it’s something for you!
A1. Deep Inside (Extended Mix) B1. Deep Inside (Plastik Funk Remix) B2. Kiss My Music (Extended Mix)
After giving high grades to the previous releases from the new started label ”Pink Star House Session” my expectations were sky high. Unfortunately this tune couldn’t deliever what I had hoped for.
A heavy kick and an electro bass gives the first song a real bad retro feeling to it which so far has excelled in the other “Pink Star” releases. However in this tune the vibes can’t be taken to a maximum because of the rather edgeless surroundings. Almost throughout the track you can hear how the vocals “Deep down inside” loops in different ways together with various electro-ish effects that pop in from time to time which sometimes feels totally right but the lack of something different and special is too big. Disappointment…
Time then for Plastik Funk to show what they are made of and I must say that they have done a great job with this remix. This version has a much more delightful feeling and flow to it. Although the tune in some ways reminds me a lot of the extended version, they have been able to capture the true essence in it and been able to give it soul. With some genuine electronical elements this tune doesn’t feel as stiff as its precursor.
Kiss My Sound is the title of the third track and this one recalls a feeling of oneself on a beach with an ice cold drink in the hand and you all know that it can never be a bad thing. This song is more italodisco influenced which feels like a nice little break after the two previous tunes. Intensive guitar riffs and trumpets contribute to a great end of an otherwise mediocre release.
Conclusion:
As I’ve said earlier this tune didn’t make me as over-excited that I thought I would be because of its edgelessness. The ray of light is the third track whos summerish feeling spreads a glimpse of light in the otherwise dark winter. A 6/10 is my final grade for this one after a lot of hesitations.
