Stu Allan is continuing to make waves in the hard dance arena after he hit home with his re-release of 'Fly Away' as this remix from producer Technikal goes to show...
:: Stu Allan - A Feeling (Technikal Vox Mix) :: Nukleuz :: PNUK0693
1) Stu Allan - A Feeling (Technikal Vox Mix) After your standard hard dance deliberately mixable intro of empty beats and a snare build, the track kicks into life with a thick, rolling bass. Amongst the various melodies we hear as the track continues to warm up, we also hear a vocal building up too. It's one of those potentially bizarre moments in dance music, especially in this case because it's hard dance. We hear a male vocal - clear verses sung out by a male - no sampled, synthed up tricks here, just full on vocals which carry on to the now fairly frenzied synths which are pumping away in the background. The breakdown really goes to town on these vocals and really focuses in on them. The inevitable buildup comes round and it doesn't hold back. Its a fantastic, melody driven build up headed by a frantic, energetic synth which finally explodes into the full on fast paced main section of the track when everything drops back in. The contrast created between all this energy and the relatively smoth vocals is a good one and is very interesting to listen to. Whilst the male vocals might really put some people off, they'll definitely intrigue a lot more.
Conclusion:
An interesting twist to hard dance - the usual frantic melodies and hooks but this time blended together with some unorthodox male vocals. Overall, a top bit of hard dance which breaks away a little from the mould.
