DJ Tiesto Solo @ Godskitchen 06-12-02

DJ Tiesto, voted number 1 DJ was scheduled to play four 6-hour sets at the Code venue for Godskitchen this year and having been to them all, I sure hope he's going to be doing the same next year, as they have all been absolutely fantastic nights!

After collecting our tickets outside the venue, we made our way in just after 10pm. Tiesto had already started of his set with some progressive sounding beats. The club was pretty full by this time already and people were still desperate to get in and hear the sound of Holland’s famous DJ Tiesto.

Early on into his set he played 'Sasha - Xpander', which was quite a surprise, the place was in an absolute uproar when this came on as it gained immediate recognition by the crowds. Whenever DJ Tiesto has the whole night under control for himself he will be sure to take you on a trance journey that you will never forget as he did to all of us last night! Tiesto's mixing was absolutely superb! The quality of tunes just flowed from one to another constantly all night. His set consisted of both old and new trance with some added harder / techno tracks once in a while including 'Vitalic - La Rock 01' as featured on the famous Poney EP. Some of the classics which he played included 'Vimana - We Came', and the crowd were absolutely loving it too as you can see if you check out the video clip that was recorded on the dance floor at this time. Other tunes which deserve a mention are: 'Push - Universal Nation', 'Push - Strange World', 'Mauro Picotto - Taub', 'Insigma - Open Your eyes', 'DJ Tiesto - Urban Train', 'DJ Tomcraft - Loneliness', and 'Frank Traxx - Nebuchan'.

As it came to the end of the 6th hour the sound faded away as the cheers got louder, but the dance floor was still rammed wit anxious crowds demanding more from the main man. Tiesto gave in and played what we thought would be one last track for the night. That one last track actually turned out to be an additional 45 minutes of more classic trance tunes including his own 'Magic Journey', and 'Plastic Boy - Silverbath'.
