The first taste of what to expect from the new studio album by Paul van Dyk is here with one of the first singles to feature on it. Parallel Dimension is a collaboration with Elated who together deliver a stunning uplifting trance piece worthy of your attention
I was surprised by the announcement of a new Paul van Dyk artist album a month or so ago, especially so as its not even a year since his last one had its release in ‘Music Rescues Me’. Thinking about it though, if you have been listening to lot of Paul’s live sets in recent months you will have noticed that a lot of the spun he is spinning is his own creations. Another thing to consider is that he has had a brand new artist album released every year now since 2017 with ‘From Then On’. Paul is really ramping up the production schedule and his pumping trance output means this is a very good thing. The first taste of his new artist collection is here with Parallel Dimension, a track he has not produced alone but with the assistance of a very fresh face within trance called Elated.

Just who is this Elated you may ask? I had to do a little bit of research as this is the first music piece I can remember having the pleasure to. The alias is one of a gentleman called Graeme Knapp, who resided over in Victoria, British Columbia. He has worked up quite a good reputation within the trance community; so much so Paul invited him to come together for this collaboration, Working with Paul is a great honour for Graeme and one he has earned for by merit of his own talented music production,
If you need some proof in that then here is the pudding with this new track. It’s a single mix, complimented by the short radio edit for those in a rush. The full single is what a trance fan will really want to get stuck into as it’s a smidge over 8 minutes of pure uplifting joy from start to finish. The familiar pumping sound Paul has in his productions these days is there to see and past the inviting beats lies home to a very addictive melody. The whole piece has been constructed beautifully with some real peaks and a lovely little piano break after the first hook line fizzles out. There are some really deep atmospheric sounds to be had within this uplifting trance gem.
This is a great insight into what to expect from the 10th studio album of Paul van Dyk, which Im sure will be brimmed full of top quality collaborations like this one. Outstanding track, gorgeous sounds from start to end and a real fist pumper when this all go off.
