The very latest from Matt Hardwick's own in house label that likes trance with the lights off. 'Imposible' is his new weapon with remixes from Ben Gold and John O'Callaghan....

Many people may forget that when Gatecrasher were at the top of their 'Trance' game a few years ago Matt Hardwick used to be one of the residents and responsible for two superb 'Residents Transmission' compilation mixes. He has since moved on and made friends with the team over at Recoverworld, where his very own label 'Kill The Lights' sleeps every night. This is the tenth release since the birth of the label in 2008 and although I've not heard all their releases this is one of the best. This is a record of a remix which was originally 'Gulf - Impossible' that Matt produced at the beginning of 2007, but it's only now its come about as a full release. It's got great remix support for the full release with Ben Gold and John O'Callgahan who pop in with great productions.

The Original Mix is where the fun begins and those of you who have not had the Hardwick experience will be pleasantly surprised by the results in here. It's been a long time coming for the full release of this but it’s been worth the wait as it's a finely crafted together vocal trancer that's easy on the ear. The vocal in here is unknown by name but it’s very well delivered into he track, quite catchy to a certain extent and flows along with the buzzing bass line that is ever present in the whole record. The breaks are nice with soft drop off's and subtle sweeps in the background. The overall effect comes across as a simple, back to basics vocal trance trip that won't disappoint.

Ben Gold has been a guy who is ending this year in a high after a flurry off international gigs and outstanding productions under his own name and his Be:Gold aliases. His production in here is very solid flipping up the tempo a notch from what I've heard from him recently. The vocals in here were made for productions like Ben's as he's a dab hand at turning them into audio gold. The result with his mix here is a bright and breezy build feeding in a snippet of effected vocal before unleashing the main one. Sweeping acoustic chords in the background on the break give the vocal impact and he leads things back in with a rolling beat that’s nicely juiced up. The melody the slides in after the break feel quite refreshing.

The most energetic remix out of the lot here, and no surprises either, is John O' Callaghan's high impact uplifting trance mix. It's the high tempo John fuses into his mixes and thumping beat that work with all the rest of the sounds building the track up which will get your interest. The leading build up using euphoric bars to create the melody that comes from it are well fitting with the vocal. The end result packs plenty of punch and pushes through an uplifting outcome. There is a small break where the vocal is left to do the work on its own but its soon built back up with rumbling beat loops to drop back intro the track. The best mix on here for me by far.

Conclusion:
For a track that first saw daylight, but not a release in 2007, it's been worth the wait as Ben Gold and John O'Callaghan hit the sweet spot with their remixes. John's is the pick out of the two for its well rounded production style that is making Mr O'Callaghan a lot of fans on the trance scene.
