Moby drops the odd update in email form from time to time so we thought we would bring the latest one right to you here with news of a new single, podcast and artist album…
If you’re signed up to the Moby newsletter you may well have had the heads up on this today. If your not, read on because Moby has news on his latest single release, a brand new podcast and the follow up to his last artist album ‘Reprise’ by the way of a 15 track LP called ‘Resound NYC’. The new album comes in two Vinyl variants and a CD edition.
THE PUNK ROCK VEGAN MOVIE
I finished writing and directing my first movie.. The Punk Rock Vegan Movie!
A look at the history of punk rock and animal rights/veganism, and also a reminder that the punk rock ethos of questioning everything and rejecting unethical norms is especially necessary in 2023.
It features everyone from Ian Mackaye, Dave Navarro, HR from Bad Brains, Youth of Today, Davey Havok, and many, many more… And…it’s free! We can’t in good conscience try to profit from this film (or any activism), so we’re giving it away for free.
:: Feel free to stream it and download it, just make sure you don’t pay for it.
NEW SINGLE - TRANSIT
Last summer I started my first ever record label, always centered at night, and just a couple of weeks ago we released our most recent single, ‘transit’ featuring the amazing vocals of Sudanese singer Gaidaa. Here’s the song, and a link to the other always centered at night songs.

MOBY - RESOUND NYC
I JUST FINISHED recording and mixing the follow up to Reprise, called Resound NYC, and it’s coming out in May on Deutsche-grammophon! The first single is a brand new version of In This World, with the truly remarkable vocals of Marisha Wallace.
In the follow up to his acclaimed album Reprise (May, 2021), which featured guests including Kris Kristofferson, Mark Lanegan, Jim James, and Skylar Grey, Moby reimagines and orchestrates fifteen of his most iconic tracks written or recorded in New York from the years 1994 to 2010, with guest vocalists including Gregory Porter, Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs), Margo Timmons, and Amythyst Kiah.
While many of the vocalists are household names, others are less familiar: Moby discovered P.T. Banks singing in a wedding band in Texas, while the elderly father of mesmerizingly soulful Danielle Ponder joins her on the remake of Run On.
The music pioneer’s 20th studio album reflects perhaps the most defining era in Moby’s musical life, from his former home of New York City.Moby was born in New York City, and began his music career playing in punk rock bands, and dj’ing at underground clubs in and around New York.
1: In My Heart ft. Gregory Porter 2: Extreme Ways ft. The Temper Trap 3: South Side ft. Rick Wilson 4: Flower (Find My Baby) ft. Amythyst Kiah 5: In This World ft. Marisha Wallace 6: Helpless ft.
