One of the giants of the techno and dance music scene Carl Cox has just released his first artist album for over decade with what he likes to call ‘Electronic Generations’…
Carl Cox has been involved in the music scene as a producer and DJ for just about three decades having during that time played in just about every big club you could think of. The man is a techno icon and even in the late nineties had a brief cameo in one of the UK’s most treasured clubbing films ‘Human Traffic’. He shows no signs of putting his feet up with the slippers and cocoa just yet and has a very busy 2023 to get stuck into with live shows and bookings from around the world as he takes his DJ exploits to even further heights.
The start of the New Year brings a new music exploration for Carl in the release of a brand new artist album ‘Electronic Generations’. It is his first release in over 10 years and an album crafted ready for the road as he will be taking the sounds from this album and showcasing them live in his shows this year. You can expect this new album to be very club orientated with a real diverse shift in moods across the 15 tracks.
The release for this album comes in the form a double 12” Vinyl and an expanded digital edition featuring 7 new remixes and tweaks from tracks on the album. There is no CD release, which really shows the strength on how big the Vinyl comeback has been in recent years and people return to the format once more. There is just something about holding the music in your hands that still appeals over the modern day digital download. I’ve had a little sneak peak of this and while Techno might not be my first go to, I could not be helped but drawn to the productions in here.
