The very latest single from the stright talking John Askew has arrived on the Future Sound Of Eygpt label with a banging peice of trance from start to finish called 'Can I Be Frank?'...
We come to nothing but straight talking over the years from John Askew. The very same can be said about his music production. He says what he thinks and expresses his musical taste through his banging production style. He has been working in the music scene for well over a decade now having sought out his reputation through some stellar productions released through his former home Discover, part of the Recoverworld label group. He now works under the legendary Paul Oakenfold for his Perfecto label and has guided back the return of their very popular ‘Perfecto Fluoro’ brand. There is no messing about with John, and that’s very evident as he unloads another musical pounding on the ear drums with this latest single.

I always get excited by a John Askew release. In some aspects you half know what to expect from it, which is not a bad thing. In an age where a lot of trance superstars of a decade ago are out playing this ‘EDM’ shite there are guys like John still pumping out the pounding beats. This latest tune has a little bit of old PvD style flair on the production sound for me, back when his style was very beat driven and not so much wishy washy bass line chord changes. This goes off with a bang, hits you a sweat little break then slaps you round the face with some more bang. A very high tempo trance affair is this and typical of a style which has earned John Askew the respect within the electronic dance music community.
Conclusion:
Top draw material from John here, if you don’t like this then you really are not a trance fan at all as this is a pure as you can get when it comes to high tempo banging beats. No remixes needed here as I think others would only ruin it. You must get hold of this one.
