One of the biggest events in Ireland this year was GodsKitchen, hosting a number of top DJS and an 8,000 crowd capacity! This event will be hard to better...
First of all we want to thank Godskitchen for allowing i:Vibes to come along and review the event. I was only informed that I was able to go to GodsKitchen a couple of days before the event! This was pretty short notice because its a three hour journey from where I live to get to Kings Hall, where the event was.
When I got there, at 7PM, Fergie was coming on, he really rocked the crowd for a long time! I think his set was the longest of them all! Anyway the atmosphere was superb! The crowd were chanting fergie fergie, pretty cool! He must have felt great for that! Judge jules was a bit of a dissapointment though, he came on at around the 12am mark or just before. He wasn't terrible but wasn't what I expected really.
When we got to Belfast, the city was totally empty and I was thinking, maybe this event will be a flop. So anyway we went to the hotel where we were staying that night and booked in etc. We were running late so I just had a quick shower and we left the room straight away to get a taxi. It took about 10 mins to get there from the hotel and I was pretty excited when i got there, the place was huge!
The basic layout of the venue was as soon as u walked into the place, the DJ area was straight ahead with 2 dancers on either side. There were many lasers and lights, which was expected, and everything was perfect! Great DJs, great music, great atmosphere, lots of people and a lot fo fun to be had! Personally, I never touch drugs but still I got high from the music! Fergie was a blast and I would definitly go see him again! Amazing DJ!... I was a bit surprised when he spun Rank1 Awakening, as I always had thought Fergie to be a Hard House DJ, but let me say this, this tune really put shivers down my back when heard on the amazing sound system which was set up there! The music was pounding my body which felt amazing! I couldnt get close enough the speakers hehe even though I was right in front of them! I just wanted more. There was only one dissapointment about the sound system was that while upstairs on the balcony (Yep HUGE balcony surround the place) all that could really be heard was thudding, but I guess this had a big thing to do with the amount of people in the place and they were absorbing most of the sounds.
I had a camera with me but i never realised about the flash not working with the lights in the place. So i took about 20 photos and none of them came out right :( Big dissapointment!... I had planned to write a little something beside every photograph but now I cant so ive to cut the report short im afraid...
Next time, I will have full on extensive report with hundreds of pics for your enjoy!
GODSKITCHEN, if its ever near you, DONT MISS IT, its one of the best nights you could have!!!
