It's been almost two years since the first 'Sound of Garuda' compilation was released by Gareth Emery which highlighted the sound his label pushes out with its releases. Time for an update with the second chapter...
The album follows on the heels of the success of NorthernLights - his acclaimed debut artist album (which displaced Deadmau5 to claim the #1 spot on the US iTunes Dance chart). The second Sound of Garuda again places the leading-edge sound of Emery’s illustrious label centre-stage and is unique in that each and every track comes as a never-heard-before exclusive. It also includes two brand new productions from Gareth himself.
Throughout 2011 Gareth’s meteoric rise as an international DJ and producer has continued unabated. He’s already played in excess of a 100 gigs and sold out venues around the world with his much talked about live show Northern Lights Concert. It’s also seen his current single Fight The Sunrise rule MTV Dance’s playlist, whilst the previous single Sanctuary became the most played record on Sirius XM’s stations BPM and 20 on 20 for over a month. Of late he’s been in the studio producing exclusive tracks for this CD and contributed the lead remix for the brand new Britney Spears single ‘I Wanna Go’ (described by Britney herself on Twitter as “so hot!”).
The Sound of Garuda: Chapter 2 features tracks from some of the fastest rising buzz names and most established, respected producers recording in the genre. By turns, new-bloods like Craig Connelly, Ben Gold & Jonas Stenberg and Paul Webster deliver cool melodica, tense, tech-trance technology and full-bore rapacious uplift to the mix. Chapter 2 also previews the latest club munitions to come out of the studios of European heavy-hitters like M.I.K.E. and Alex M.O.R.P.H. and Stateside trance stars Filo & Peri. Certain to delight fans, also premiered on the album are two new Emery collaborations. Kicking the mix off is the tough trance progressive overture of Mansion (with Ashley Wallbridge) and the Ben Gold co-production Flash, which provides the dynamically riffed final straight to the mix.
The Sound of Garuda: Chapter 2 is the new showcase for a label that is quick to the lips and even faster to the decks of electronic dance music’s top tier of DJs. If you’ve not yet done so, it’s time to visit Garuda!
