© Black Hole Recordings‘Please Don’t Panic’ is the new artist album from Swedish electronic purveyor, Zoo Brazil, aka John Andersson. Released on the ever reliable Black Hole, the 12 track collection precedes further releases this year on Tiga’s Turbo label, Steve Angello’s Size, Dubfire’s Sci+Tec, Defected, Systematic, and many more...

The above roll call of labels goes some way in explaining Zoo Brazil’s refusal to be confined to one genre, preferring instead to explore juxtaposing musical avenues under a dizzying array of different guises. This is evident on ‘Please Don’t Panic’, where he touches upon electro pop, vocal melodic house, techno, electro house, minimal, and beyond.

Zoo Brazil’s previous work has appeared on an impressive array of indie imprints, from Get Physical Music, Ministry of Sound and Renaissance, to Strictly Rhythm, Yoshitoshi, Black Hole and Armin van Buuren´s Armada Music, to name but a few. Held in great respect by his peers, his remix prowess has been called upon by James Holden, Ian Pooley, Rex the Dog, Blaze, Dirty Vegas, Zoot Woman/Stuart Price and many more.

His music has also featured on major labels such as EMI, Warner Music, Universal Music, Sony and Virgin. As a song writer he co-wrote Kylie Minogue’s hit ‘The Song’, which featured on her album ‘X’; while remixes for artists including Moby, Fatboy Slim, Tiesto, Nitin Sawhney, the Human League, and beyond, have ensured him a well-regarded presence outside the specialist arena.

‘Please Don’t Panic’ is at all times cohesive and engaging. Songs featuring Rasmus Kellerman (‘There Is Hope’, ’Locus’, and ’Copycats’), Shoddy Lynn (‘Manic’), Leah (‘You Can Have It All’), and Gina Turner (‘Bang It!’) combine with straight-up club workouts to make this his finest production collection yet.
