A: Electro Fun (Original Mix)
he first few minutes of this one act as one really long building introduction. You're prepped with a strong beat and a wholesome selection of crisp and tribal sounding percussion. Eventually, this reveals the 'Electro Fun' part of the track - a distinct and very simple sawtooth style lead synth. In deep electro tones it stabs out an unchanging rhythm and takes the track along with it. Overall, a really minimal and simplistic track with a tribal style to it that would suit it to a slot early on in the night, or inside a really deep and techy house set.
AA: Electro Fun (E-Craig Remix)
E-Craig has put in a remix which does stick to his usual remix styles, but it also gives it a few unique twists that we're not used to hearing from his work. The track is heavily percussive - there's loads of the stuff! Accenting the beats is a synth playing an ongoing chord repetition and in the break this acts with the bass to form a dark progression in a minor key, giving the track a dark and gloomy feel. It's at this point that the 'Electro Fun' synth is brought to life, and also that a massive, droning bassline is added. So the final effect is a dark, driving track with a sinister edge and a gutsy, bassy depth to it which would be pretty massive in a big club with a powerful soundsystem.
Conclusion:
Very minimal tribal tech on the A-side, although some might find it a bit too simplistic. E-Craig's remix on the flip is more of a stomper because of it's chattering percussion and gutsy bass.
