Miika Kuisma and Kenjido Okiru team up for one of the latest releases on the digital only label, Subtraxx...
:: Miika Kuisma & Kenjido Okiru - Basscore :: Subtraxx :: SXXDD017
Basscore 'Basscore' has a really sultry and moody introductory section. A dark eerie ambience is backed by a solid beat. The ambience slowly grows and thickens whilst extra percussion eases its way in. This long, slow and atmospheric build up comes to a head at after two and a half minutes where a massive, grinding bassline kicks in. It pulsates strongly with a really unique, crisp and gritty sound. A small breakbeat break allows some small synth driven hooklines to take hold and everything gets thrown back together - synth patterns, beats and that awesome bassline that the track revolves around. The final subtle element introduced into this tune is a jittering rhythmic synthline which tops things off nicely because by now at this point you have a well constructed track with good atmosphere, strong drive and some strength and feeling behind it.
Conclusion:
A nice track that really lives up to its name - 'Basscore'! The track is nicely built and produced but the highlight really is that killer bassline - dark, gritty and so so strong!
