There comes a new label from the stables of Pulsive Media. The first track on this new label - In-telligance - is called 'Brightness' by Sandra Flyn and is given remix treatment by Nu-NRG. Read on...
:: Sandra Flyn - Brightness :: In-telligance :: IN-TELLIGANCE001
A: Brightness (Original Mix) The Original Mix is a fairly easy going affair to begin with - simple beat and percussion glued to an equally non-complicated bassline. Snares and vocals bring on the quiet and gentle breakdown after which something tougher begins to emerge. Coarse and abruptly stabbed synths hit out a rhythm adding more drive and a much moodier overall feeling. The main elements of the track are slowly filtered out towards the end of the track and it eases itself to a close much in the same way that it began.
B: Brightness (Nu-NRG Remix) Nu-NRG's remix employs a snappier beat and a more noticeable selection of percussion. From early on in the track, things are strongly driven by an offbeat synth and bass along with sinister sounding synth stabs which sound a lot nicer than the ones used in the Original Mix. The first half of the track has a slight air of suspense about it and retains its driving motion which is good. There is one very long breakdown which adds a rather cool uplifting element as it builds and builds over the coarse of quite a few minutes. At the peak of things it kicks nicely back into the driving stabbing rhythm established earlier and progresses well onto its end.
Conclusion:
The Original Mix is quite restrained and quiet, but the Nu-NRG Remix takes the full on lead and transforms the track into a driving piece of quite techy trance. The breakdown in the middle is a really good contrast and helps give this track its strength.
