Thanks to Neil @ DJ Connections

He first gained attention early in the year when his debut vinyl release, a cheeky white label remix of The Shrink's classic 'Nervous Breakdown' started to cause serious damage on dancefloors everywhere, being championed by Eddie Halliwell, Guy Ornadel, Scot Project and Dave Pearce.

With only 100 copies in existence, it became incredibly sought after, especially after being broadcast live on BBC Radio 1 from the Mardi Gras festival on Judge Jules' show. Following the footsteps of many great bootlegs before it, it was finally signed for an official release later in the year by Dutch label Nutrition who originally released the track. Hitting stores in late 2002, it provided as much of hit in the shops on as on the dancefloor and went on to feature on the Godskitchen Direct compilation album.

After the hard-as-nails sirens of Nervous Breakdown, Gaz turned his attention back to his traditional home of trance with his next release, a double a-side comprised of the tracks 'Psiclone' and 'Flood Control' on his own label Influential. The release picked up considerable support from all the major trance spinners including Armin and Ferry Corsten, truly putting GTR on the music production map. Despite exceptional demand, due to distribution issues, the track never received a full release - so Gaz plans to re-work both the tracks for a massive release sometime in 2003.

However, Gaz's biggest track of 2002 came in the shape of 'Mistral'. Released on Bonzai UK offshoot Five AM, its driving electo-style grooves and killer riff helped it to receive support from some of the world's leading DJs including Tiesto & Paul van Dyk. It also received hugely praising reviews in all the major UK magazines including Mixmag, Muzik, and DJ, and went on to be voted 26th biggest trance record of the year in a poll conducted Armin van Buren's on his ID&T radio show.
