Minilogue have been picked up by Barqoue Records, straight from Sweden! They have a high reputation for making quality house music. This little number is believed to be their best to date-and Parks and Wilson thought so too-having spun it on their recent Essential Mix..step inside...

A SIDE: Original Mix
B SIDE: Mash Up Remix

A SIDE:
This side is the mix parks and wilson played on their essential mix. It gets straight into the groove it is trying to create, with a Chab'esque tribal bassline. It shuffles the high hats to create a quality rolling effect. Some electro style effects pave the way to present the main body of the track. The harmonic synths are very quiet and minimal underneath the tribal layers formed. It picks up atmosphere and builds to drop to the bassline and distorted effect. Still chugging with the tribal feel, it begins to command again. Storming its way through the phrases. The female vocal appears again, this time a bit more dominent as it outways the body of the track. The bass dies and leave the vocal, which sounds like a little child, to create a warm atmosphere. Great percussion is used to keep the tempo in touching distance. It halts with some electro effects to bang back in drums kicking as hard as before. The track reaches its pinnacle with more vocoded effects. It comes to an end as it started with the deep drum patterns and shuffling highs.

B SIDE:
Mash Up are on remix duty here with there more percussive style etched into this track. Some nice effects begin the opening few phrases, whilst the introduction of a nice rumbling bassline contrasts well. The female vocal is introduced in the same way as the A side.. very minimal at first, but when the bass is killed in comes through on a stronger note. It chuggs through the mid section building that ever progressive sound that Baroque have become so good at seeking out. It hits the main break with a wimpish vocoded effect. The female vocal is added to some naturistic touches to leave a soft humble synth.
The deep bassline comes back in right on cue giving the track a push to build even more. It works on what it has already created, reaching a peak. It cuts its bass for a phrase towards the end to signal the beginning of the end. The layers fade to leave in ideal for a nice mix to occur, which the bassline and some nice spacey effects.

TEST PRESS:
"The original mix is a tough but melodic journey full of clean beats, spacey FX & spine tingling vocals... of the initial handful of TP's in circulation this mix had the phones ringing off the hook, the production on this mix is as tight as a ? ..well just tight!

On the flip Mash Up get on the remix duties and do their thang... This is their first mix following the massive club hit 'Do It Do It' they had last year...Using US influenced beats and some ethereal strings alongside 1 fat bassline, this track weaves its way through some quirky moments!

Many thanks to Keith for his help and supplying me with the ammunition to bring this to you!
Keep it up everybody at Baroque and Method !!
