 Global Underground welcomes back one of their favourite artists for a third mix on the iconic ‘City’ series compilation as they head over to Dublin for release number 49…
One of the best house and progressive labels out there Global Underground have a gem of mix coming on their long standing legendary city compilation series. The mix compilation has been running since the 1990’s and will be hitting edition number 49 this coming May. The new edition will see a third mix from the house duo Deep Dish as they head to Ireland for their inspiration.
Their previous two mixes, which were decades ago had them visit Moscow and Toronto. Those mixes went down very well with the electronic dance community as Deep Dish are a very well know name if you’ve been around a bit. The compilation itself has seen some legendary artists and DJ’s over the years and is one of the longest running mix compilation series I can think off still knocking out fresh editions.
It’s brilliant to see the format of a mix compilation is still drawing in the punters in this age of over exposure in the form of radio shows, podcasts and weekly mixes. Nearly every major DJ has a weekly, monthly or random mix released. It’s great to discover new music but so much out there you can’t listen to everything. A compilation like this is one to really get stuck into and a true path to discover some excellent new tracks out there.
Deep Dish knows what a good tune sounds like so you can expect plenty of those in their Dublin mix. The mix will be available in quite a few options. The traditional double CD editions, a double LP with I’m sure nearly all the tracks from the CD mix and of course the digital editions in both MP3 and WAV formats. There will also be a very special collector’s edition featuring all that and more exclusive collectables, posters and media. That touches in at just under a £100 so maybe one for the die hard Deep Deep and series collectors.
