After being a semi pro producer and fan of Electronica for many a year, one starts to ask themself, "how do the producers do that?" We hear many amazing sounds and techniques that one cant explain. My question is, how does Hallucinogen give his melodies in Orphic Trench and Alpha Centauri that amazingly trippy sound? I have tried and tried again to produce what he does with those sounds. Is it tweaking the pitch? the cutoff? the resonace? One may never know until he/she asks. Can anyone answer this?

The speed at which your question was answered is freaking amazing. I mean, either nobody has a freaking clue how to emulate what they hear, or they actually don't want to help you. Instead of trying for his sound-o-tripness, why don't you make a better one.

I can remember from documentaries about the old House music scene when asking producers how they managed to get a certain sound the answer they gave, 'We just turned nobs'.

Sometimes a sound comes out of the blue and is achived just by fiddling around. Its all gud to try and recreate other peoples sounds but I would suggest concentrating on making your own.

Isn't this like the infamous 'I want to sound like Ferry Corsten with Fruity Loops' question I've seen dotted around so many music forums? Just kidding hehe. In seriousness a lot of people could guess, but to know the precise answer to your question you'd have to be either a gifted studio engineer, or Hallucinogen.
