Post Post subject: The Best Trance Anthems Ever??? So MTV say!! Reply with quote

Well last night, I was checking out the old MTV Dance channel.(Channel 444 on sky, Amigos!!!) To come across the top 100 Trance Anthems ever.

This was complied using professional DJ's only and it suprised me with it's results. (Hosts included PVD, Ferry, SeB Fontaine, Jules and others)

The top three tunes ever are;

1. Age Of Love- Age Of Love (Jam & Spoon's Watch out for Stella Remix)
2. Planet Perfecto- Bullet In the Gun
3. BBE- Seven Days & One Week

one note here was that Robert Miles' Children. (A song that holds some good memories for me) popped in a 8! (Nice to see it get some credit before it's lost, thanks to that God aweful Angel City Piss take! Twisted Evil )

Did that Suprise you? It did me!! Surprised

1 & 3 aren't a surprise in any way but 2 is a bit.. didn't expect Bullet In The Gun to be that high in the rankings. But music is all about personal taste so i don't really care what others think as alltime trance anthems.

That's It Jyri! I agree, music is about personal taste. I thought Yes to BBE. (What a tune) But No to the other 2. Especially, Age of Love. Which is a Classic. But the best tune ever?? (Well PVD thinks so.........Who I'm I to argue with that Man!! hehe)

Thing is though in that top 100 there would of been artists like Scooter, PPK and Darude - fair enough, some people like the tracks they produce but on a scale of what certain tracks have done to the scene, they shouldnt come close ...

Jose Amnesia - The Eternal
Push - Universal Nation
Solar Stone - Seven Cities

Just a few that I think have made a huuuuuge impact in the last few years.

Children was repressed on S12 a short while ago. Grabbed a copy of that quicksharp.

I noticed this '100 Greatest Ever Trance Anthems' the other night while down a mates house. Number 29 was a piece of sickening euro-cheese hence anything the program suggested was instantly disregarded and the channel was changed.

Interesting top 3.
Do you have the full listing? I'd be interested to know what else is on there!

No Sam, sorry. I was looking for it. But I don't think you can get the full listing.

Luckily,I didn't get to see any cheese from when I tuned in! (Thank god!)

(I have a feeling this was more of a top 100 of 'trance songs that have videos and MTV can find without to much hassle'!)

I agree...I do however still enjoy Age of Love.

I also checked MTV's website and was unable to find the complete list.

I've only heard the last two. Like Dave, I think this is a good tune but not #2 material.
I've also only heard the famous Ferry Corsten Remix of Seven Days and One Week and have to say it's nothing to rave over.
