Festival hopping — a summer pastime that is not just limited to the UK even if it is home to Glastonbury (25 – 27 June), the mother of all festivals. In addition to Michael Eavis’ massive annual mud bath, you should not miss the Big Chill Festival at Eastnor Castle. Nomen est omen! At Big Chill (30 July to 1 August), things are … erm … more chilled with acts like Lemon Jelly, Coldcut, Bent, Ralph Myerz and The Jack Herren Band, The Egg, Norman Jay and Rob Da Bank plus Chris Coco, Ulrich Schnauss and many more. There is also the Body & Soul Area with workshops, a film tent, the Cabaret Area and a new stage next to the lake.

And, to give Londoners a taste of what to expect at Eastnor Deer Park, the Big Chill Sound System will be playing Clapham Common in South London on 4 July. Moloko, Spektrum, Dub Pistols, Tom Middleton, The Bays and A Man Called Adam will be playing there among others.
