[c:Es] Categorising Electronica Styles

Ok ive come up with a little plan... I want to categorise what styles you are listening to and put a username to each style... in preferred order

So what I want you to do is something like the following:

Steven Hone
01. Progressive Trance
02. Uplifting Trance
03. Progressive House [Tech House]

Then I will create a topic and if its popular ill make it a sticky, and have all the categories listing the forums usernames within their preferred styles Smile

this way its cool Very Happy

Okay, I'm not kidding with this, it sounds a little funny though so please bear with me... I am REALLY serious about my love for the music though, so here goes:

1- "progressive"
as in, the more vague, hard-to-define music that doesn't fit in a category but has this pushing forward attitude to it -- I'd say the Border Community philosophy would go well with this, so Holden & friends, as well as Luke Chable and all their happy friendly allies
2- "regressive"
a lot of classics like BT's IMA, from the nostalgic looking-back times of trance and other styles, say, mid-late 90s... this used to be epic house but some of it gets slotted under progressive trance now, so whatever Wink

3- "techy trance?"
not sure if "tech-trance" as it's currently defined is appropriate, but if it is, by all means go with that . . examples of what I like: some of the minimal techy stuff like Richie Hawtin. and i like to hear those precise, surgeon-like beats fused with the lush melody lines of trance, detuned saw waves and all that, but to have space between the buildups and let the beats click and cut and then bring the melodies back in, as well as the driving 16th-note trance basslines. a bit hard to write about in words, sorry!

Changes every week but this is where it's at right here, right now Very Happy
