Warp, or something like it......

i was at a party in sydney a couple years ago and the first dj of the night spun a set of some really cool stuff neither me nor my two friends had ever heard before. my buddies were from new york and had been into underground stuff quite a bit, and they were stumped as to what it could be called. it was house, to be sure, but it was very spare, minimalistic, dark and evil. most of the tracks were just a beat with one or two weird, low frequency sounds over the top. it was like if darth vader decided to spin house. i asked the dj what it was, and he gave me a pretty involved answer. i was so twisted that all i really remembered was that he said it was warp. i've been looking for stuff to fit that description for three years now, and it's proving to be pretty tough to find, so any ideas about where to look would be appreciated.

i guess i should add that all the stuff i've found on warp records is not really what i'm looking for. or stuff by the warp brothers
