...the other side of EDM we never seem to talk about here? Plenty of discussion about Trance, House, Prog, Hardcore, even breaks...but I never hear much about some of the older stuff that got some of us into the genre. Artists like Juno Reactor, Fluke, Orbital, Leftfield, Crystal Method, and the ilk. Now open for discussion: the old greats, the stuff that REALLY started it all. If any of these songs stir a memory, or if you have any other *classic* classics, feel free to share them. I'm sure there are a ton I forgot, but these ones have stuck with me for 10 years so far, and I'm sure they'll stick for another 10.
Orbital - Halcyon (1992)
Leftfield - Song of Life (1992)
Juno Reactor - Guardian Angel (1995)
God Within - The Phoenix (1995)
Daft Punk - Around the World (1996)
Juno Reactor - Samurai (1996)
Orbital - Lush 3-1 (1993)
Fluke - Bubble (1993)
Fluke - Bullet (1995)
Sven Vath - An Accident in Paradise (1992)
God Within - Raincry (1992)

I've heard of Orbital - Halcyon and Fluke - Bullet but I really haven't been listening to electronic music for that long so this stuff is foreign to me.

I'm familiar with all of them except the two God Within tracks.
I liked them all at the times they were released...all classics that I haven't heard for a long time.
Juno Reactor, Leftfield, Orbital and Daft Punk are still among my favourites for sure...

| God Within...maybe you know him better as Scott Hardkiss? I KNOW you've heard his song Raincry...it was featured on Northern Exposure 1, and I think it made an appearance in the movie 187 (very brief, and just the vocals). Koma & Bones did a really nice mix a few years back as well.

Orbital, Juno Reactor, and Daft Punk are some of the first EDM artists I listened to when I got into the scene. It's great to see someone mention some of the classics that got me started. Brings back lots of good memories (if I can piece them together).
