Post subject: workin with vocal |

|
im nearly done makin my dance track.
i only need to record some girl singin the lyrics and thats it.
i just wanted to know what software u think its best for workin with vocal.
i know cubase sx but i dont think its that good.........
any sugestions?

Cool edit, you can just load it up with a shit load of fx's and im sure it will sound great

im tryin to record a vocal.............
and i have in my mind exactly what i want the girl to sing
but when i try to put it out on the piano roll so she could have atleast some idea how she shoud sing the lyircs, i jsut cant find the right keys.
and my voice aint so great that i can sing it to her.........
any suggestions?

Do you mean you can't get her to sing the right notes?
Or that she's not interpreting the style of the piece the way you would have it sung?
If it's the former: Try writing it out on sheet music and just have whoever you want singing sight-read it. It might take a few tries, but if they're a halfway decent musician (who can read music, obviously) they'll get it
For the latter: I would try running the song a few times while trying different things with her. Let her dicover the style on her own (more or less) because it sounds like you're having a hell of a time articulating it to her. The sad reality is that hardly any music is sung exactly the way whoever wrote it wants. But usually, it's plenty good enough.
