Psytrance: Who like it here ???

Hello folks !

How are you all doing ???
After many times with not writting here I finally be curious to see how this community was doing ! Razz

Well, I am more into PSY TRANCE stuff, and I could see in the HOME page of I:Vibes that there is a POLL asking if this kind of music would also be welcome overhere, and seems YES, since 60% answered YES already...

I know many members of here likes Psy a lot... (Because they are my close friends and I could have a nice chat with them sharing Psy experiences aswell)... But I am sure, Trance and Psy are sooo close, that many more members will like it when know it well...

Let´s see who´s here really likes PSY !

That's one of the reasons I am back ppl.

To try to pass a few of my psy experience that I've got the last couple of years and show you that Psytrance has a great tradition, costums, history, philosophy (is it correct ? hehe :P) and overall, A GREAT CONNECTION TO OUR GREAT TRANCE MUSIC... (That's why it's called by many ppl Psy Trance).

I will also show some new tunes that might interests all of you, even who hate psy ! Trust me ! 8)

I didn't see the replies yet from those guys I said I know and likes Psy... (If I am not wrong, they are part of the i:vibes crew, so I wanna see those answers ! heheh)

Psy is cool, my second favourite next to uplifting trance, tough I know so few I Like Chi Ad , Infected mushroom, Eatstatic all excelent artists

Yes, I do like psy-trance - at least what I've heard of it, which unfortunately is not much. Some producers I like:

Astral Projection
Infected Mushroom
Man With No Name
Space Cat
Goa Syndrome (amateur but really good!)

But that's about the extent of what I know. I bought Paul Oakenfold's Voyage Into Trance and that is a nice psy CD, although it isn't as banging as I like it...

The psy trance scene is probably the biggest scene in australia, although it has remained quite underground at the same time. Generally one every few months they have doofs out in the bush, which is a lot of fun Twisted Evil

Melbourne has more parties then sydney or any other state in oz aswell. Some clubs play psy you generally hear it on a sunday night though. Lots of talented aussie artists aswell *cough* fractal glider *cough* hehehe

i love the creativity level of psy artists, especially their names and track names
some of my fav russian psy artists - sya kin dza dza, parasense and fungus funk

as for some other names

psy fuckin ownz everyone here, i love psytrance its the only way to get the best of some trips..... also the music is so much more creative and trippy, its a step higher for me from trance. psytrance is trances' metaphysics

Yes I am a fan of Psy Trance, to me it can fit in nicely with my prog house and prog trance tendencies. I purchase very little of it though as I do not know which online stores in the UK specialise in this genre.

So I think you all shall vote on YES for Psy on I:Vibes and I hope Steve Hone or someone else invite me to Moderate a Psy channel over here (just for discussions, etc) that I am sure will grow day by day and make I:Vibes more quality then it is...

In Brazil, Psy is the most listened e-genre... And this is the same in Portugal, Israel, Sweeden and now in FRANCE with many famous Producers and Djs... Germany and Russia plays a Dark Psy, but stilla very fuckin nice and crazy genre of that amazing style...

Psytrance is the generic term for everything released by psy lables. So anything would qualify as "psytrance" from Shaolin Wooden Men to Astral Projection.

"Full-on" is a term used for designating goa with a lot of sounds (melodies) which is used as oposed to "minimal" which has less sounds in it... and of course, purists (like me...) will tell you that nothing our days, be it full-on or minimal comes close to that complex mysterious oldschool sound... but that's a different story Wink

oh and if you want examples of genres, full-on would be stuff like Talamasca, 1200 Mics, Alien Project, Dynamic, Eskimo,... and minimal would be stuff like Son Kite, Shiva Chandra, Trancefeld, Ticon,... and oldschool would be older stuff released by Astral Projection, Total Eclipse, Prana, Cosmosis, Man With No Name... (ahhh, that's the stuff!!!).

by epic trance do you mean uplifting, because thats how im going to explain it. Uplifting generally has a buildup in the middle of the track and then a breakdown yes.
Psy doesnt really have these to an extent yes, psy uses more samples and as people like to say "weird noises"

I've only heard Astral Projection and they rock. And from what I've heard from them, psy trance is a genre that I'll definitely keep an eye on in the future.
