So how do you guys feel about the tracks being released this year. Do you think cheese is taking over or do you think they are quality or what? Personally i miss 1999 but i found 2001 better than 2000.

Personally I feel that this year has gotten alot harder as far as trance music is concerned. There have been alot of bangin' new tracks released this year in comparison with a lot of the 'cheese' which came out last year.
I also agree with your point about 1999 being a good year. It was at about that time when I first started listening to trance music.

| In a way 2000 was always going to be 1999 but with the same styles used, and the fact stations like Radio 1 were milking some tracks for all they could get and making them too commercial for the average clubber. I like the harder edged stuff of this year, and I think it is getting better again in variety, and hopefully 2002 will bring in some more quality tracks and livesets. I think Tiesto is well on his way to be the top in uplifting trance, Fergie is playing some amazing harder stuff, and PVD is getting back to the quality he was 2 years ago now.

1999 - The Year Of Trance !!
This year has seen the major trance producers like Tiesto, and Paul Van Dyk with some decent tunez again, but there has been more cheese this year than before...

| The best ppl are the ones that keep ahead, When I heard Flight 643 I thought he was going more progressive, then he hits us with Urban Train, I think if he produces the quality in either genre of trance, the only winners can be Us, the clubbers

1999 was def. the year for TRANCE.
But todays music is def. not replaced with CHEESE.
sure, they may be alotta of cheap, simple tracks out there, but then again they are tons of GREAT ones too.
the trance singles comin out these days has more elements with the sounds touched on with 2001's EFX. more options means better sounds.
for example.
compare Paul Van Dyk - Binary Finary with something like Funk Einsatz - My Dance or any other of your NEW FAVORITE trance songs right now. I'm not saying that Binary Finary was bad, it was awesome, but just for the sake of technical arguments, ELEMENTS has excelled.
-trance had a big turning point in 1999, and now in 2001, its being driven beyond limits.
-dj/producers are coming up with newer , creative sounds.
as for all types of music, a genre doesnt stay with the same sound as it started it out when it excells.
with these hidden talents experimenting at home and of course our SUPER DJ/PRODUCERS still in the studio, who knows wut trance would become in the next 10 years. [i know it'll be far more greater than it is today]
just my 1/2 cent.
=D
