Partner's Different Taste in music

I was thinking about good music and good relationships and here's a question i just had to put out..

It was a lovely sunday, my family and my bf (yes all in the same car) were crusing along Great Ocean Road... we put on a recorded tape of Armin Van Buren's newest CD.. and was listening to Such Is Life and other cool tunes that just got me and bf going... then suddenly the tape finishes & my mom puts on Britney Spears *Ooops i did it again* it was torment for my bf and i can't help but wonder what if i loved that kind of music... would there still be an existant loving relationship...

SO my question is...

1. Who has a partner/gf/bf who has an absolutely different taste in music to you? Eg. Gf= Pop, bf= Techno... you know what i mean..

1. Who has broken up with thier partner becuase they couldn't handle the music that their partners listen to.

well my girlfriend and i have very different tastes in music. I love trance and house, but she seems to like all the top 40 stuff. i must admit that sometimes it gets on my nerves, but the kool thing is she's really starting to like some of the house music i play in my car. She absolutely loved Nude Tempo One mixed by Miguel Migs. Hopefully now i can introduce her to the deep and sensual world of house music. Wink

my girlfriend is musically retarded aka fan of greenday and top 40 stuff etc... but u don't go out with someone for their music taste, we just wind each other up with it but its not gonna get between us

i usually find that if someone likes the same type of music as u.. u get on alot better with them.. making relationships work best if u r with someone who likes same stuff as u..

but then theres the saying.. "opposites attract" Razz

Yeah, it's easier to get along with people who like trance-music....but I think you can further develop a relationship if you dislike eachothers music (if you don't HAVE to listen to YOUR music at all times that is...hehe).

My wife strongly disliked my music when we first met. She turned off the stereo if I had a good trance-cd on....then gradually she left the music on for longer and longer periods...and now she doesn't care much if I play all day long (as long as it's not too loud). She has even started likeing some of the tracks Smile

I still dislike most of her stuff though....but I don't turn it off if she listens to it....she doesn't listen much to music anyway, so it's really not a problem Smile

My girlfriend is into all that slusshy Celine Dion stuff!!!! Yuk! then again, she lists Rank 1 - Airwave as her best dance tune of all time, so it aint too bad! She loves all that emotional stuff, little does she know, some of the most emotional tunes out there are trance ones! Very Happy
