An Idea From me & Andy Weekly D/Lds exc for i:vibes users

Me & Andy have decided to set up some downloads exclusive for the users of this forum. Theres lots of ways we could do it so we'd appreciate some feedback from you guys...

We intend to do the following...

1- Each Monday Morning several new downloads will be available on Andys Webspace. There will at the start be about 5, which may increase if it goes well

2- The tunes will consist of some newer ones and some classic dance ones too (corona included Wink

) They will all be in Zip Format and will probably be passworded. The reason for this is that we want only the regular users, with say 30 posts or more to be allowed access to the tunes, making it an incentive for the usual suspects on the forum.

3- We will probably take requests for tunes, the top voted ones may get in. We will try and get the best possible quality tunes, usually 160kbps plus, but for tunes that are harder to find, it may be 128kbps. We hope that it will allow everyone to have a broader interest in genres of trance. Most stuff will be uplifting or Hard, simply cos for now we don't have enough knowledge of quality progressive tunes to get the best ones up.

4- Right now we are not sure how this will be implemented. We're hoping that we might be able to have a link on the site menu to the section. We have a logo already too for the page. Hopefully it'll take you to the page where the logo will be and the links for the downloads too

We're hoping that Stream & Steven and the rest of the guys like the idea and can help us make it as good as possible, maybe by having a permanent thread where we will list each monday the tunes which will be upped on sunday nights. The tunes will not be re-posted unless the servers go down making it unfair time for everyone to get them.

What we'd like now is feedback from u guys, the users, and see if you like the idea & for Mr. Above&Beyond... this is the idea we told u we'd got up our sleeves Wink

feedback, here we go, ferrycorstenfan i reckon any further ways of getting/downloading trance cant be a bad idea, sweet,

1)as long as the server availbilty ie "Each Monday Morning" is constant, and fairly reliable, i dont see how this can't really go wrong, apart from everyone downloading at once on monday morning, and if the servers cant take the loads, then it might not be too good idea putting all tracks onin 1 go, like you said 5 tracks, maybe 1 a day, to lessen the load? if need be.

2) newer/older clasics, variety of tunes, that seems to be a good idea, (finally imight be able to get a decent rip of corona!!!) passworded files? hmm, this could prove a lil problem, first of all you might have to rotate the passwords, i.e change them montly,biweekly, just in case if they leak out??, but bigger problem gonna be the inconvience caused by using passwords, but i reckon, it might be an easy compromise to live with, considering what you are offering is with your own limited resources

3) dunno bout the 30 posts limit, i see where you are getting that from, but, i think you'll gather more info bout this from futher disscussion that arises, personally im ok, but i got >30 posts, i hope this does not cause mass usless/spam posting inorder to get at the 30 posts threshold, i dont think it will, ppl on this board are sensible and mature enough!, infact it might be an incentive for newbies/guests to join the forum!

4) as for the tunes requests, thats a good idea, maybe a time limit set on from how long a particular tune is requested/put up, and then its reappearnce, dont want constantly the most popular tunes allways being requested and poped up, your prefrences for mp3 bit rates i say is acceptable, no probs there, but 1 thing, i know it'll probably be done, but the tunes are named correctly and identified correctly, voting for the tunes, also a good idea. For progressive tunes, im sure the more experinced members here would help you in that department and advise/inform you, so lack of knowledge i dont see as a prob

5) the logo, looks good, i reckon it'll probably just be a tad smaller, just me anyway, oh and im sure those square corners round the edges of the box could be croped of to give a nicer, rounder looking logo

i hope stream and steven do support the idea, and allow it to flourish, it shows forum members giving back to the forums on their own, and i/other forum members hopefully appreciate and lend our support to the considerable efforts ferrycorstenfan and andy have made,

err, hope that somehow is of somehelp im sure, they be more from other users Smile

So this was your little plan aye lads!!! The idea seems to be brilliant, i just hope the Ivibes team dont mind, after-all they had to delete the list of mp3 sites from their links page remember? It conflicted with their contract or something, thats why Trancegate cam back (isnt it?). But as long as they give the green light then great!!!

Also, this bootleg comp could get off the ground. You could upload one each week along with the other tunes, and after 6-8 weeks we could cast our votes in a poll on the best one. It all depends on how much of following you get. Good Work & Good Luck Lads!!! Very Happy

ooh, bit more spice in those banners, there nice Smile

, on the first one, the wrting fades out, and you can barely make out what it says, but nicely designed banners, i agree the first one is better, maybe a poll is needed?

, hehe, how'd you do them, maybe if you design a few could have a vote on best one? if not that one should be good enough for your purposes
on the servers you gonna have Trance/Uplifting Trance/Hard Trance? with no progressive/psy trabce or house/breakbeat, but with the occasional emergence of some nostalgic mainly dance tunes?, plus will download managers be permitted, ie more than one connection per ip, or is this gonna be prohibited due to bandwidth considerations?
just a few more questions if you dont mind? Smile

download managers will be allowed... we wont be able to stop more than one IP connection... but it would be nice if u would only do one @ once to keep bandwith levels higher... Laughing

ill do a series of logos and banners and u can all vote for the best ones.. we'll try and make the site as u want it to be..

we would like a new section in the forum where we can post updates and pwds and also members can post requests..

we would also like it if u could make it so only people with 30 posts can have access to the section...

if u could let us have that.. it would be great Laughing

We will need to discuss this with Stream also. This may be in breach of our contract with our host so we need to overlook a few things first.

We have no problems making this section, but it may show that we have relations with an illegal operation...

However,
Since you wont be posting any direct download link (I presume Question

) it might be ok...

I will talk to Stream about this and we will see ... Very Happy

Personally i would love to support this and will do all i can to make it happen Smile

Its a real shame that you cant put this idea into practice but we dont want Ivibes getting dumped cause of it!!!! Nevermind, cant Andy use his webspace to host the stuff and you can just stick a link over at Trancegate!!!?? Im sure they'll be happy to add you to the list! especially as sites like TheRemix.com have shut down. It might give your severs a bit of a caining, but, thats the price u pay i guess!! second logo is spectacular, very nice

i think the URL will be in our signatures once the site is up.. (if thats ok with stream ?)

.... i dunno if we will publish it on TG... because of bandwith levels.. so the files might not have to be passworded... Confused

We are now taking Requests for the first batch of downloads, please send any of them to trancechart@hotmail.com and any other questions about the site that way, we have 2 slots taken already, 1 for Corona Very Happy
