Post Post subject: Erick Morillo on cocain charges? Reply with quote

It seems that Erick Morillo has been dabling with the white stuff as reports say he got arrested for possesion with intent to smuggle in drugs:

Subliminal Records boss Erick Morillo pleaded not guilty at Paisley Sheriff Court to charges of smuggling cocaine this week after he was arrested and held over night by customs officials at Glasgow airport.

"We can confirm that a man was detained at Glasgow Airport after arriving on a flight from Moscow via Amsterdam,” a Customs spokesman told the Daily Record, “He was found to have what appeared to be drugs in his possession."

The Colombian superstar DJ’s bust came weeks before the release of his presciently titled new single ‘I Get Lifted’ and coincided with a raft of stories in the British media detailing the increasing ubiquity of cocaine in the country.

Speaking to WiganToday.net, local police chief Inspector Glenn Jones said revellers are becoming increasingly aggressive and paranoid due to cocaine’s ‘heightened state of awareness’ and noted that his officers are increasingly catching dealers from ‘respectable backgrounds’.

"Cocaine use is now endemic within the night-time economy and that is a major concern. It does not help that it is relatively inexpensive compared to a night of drinking,” the Inspector complained.

"There are people taking reasonable amounts of alcohol and then topping up with cocaine every weekend. It becomes a routine and they are becoming dependent on it, although it is a drug where people can sustain a normal lifestyle during the week,” he added.

The Times also reported that ‘cocaine has replaced mulled wine at Austrian ski resorts’ this season, with drug busts rising by 60% in locations popular with aspirational Brits. Top police chief Commander Ernst Kröll suggested skiers are dabbling because they’re ‘bored and have money’, while Salzburg cop Major Christian Voggenberger suggested many bar staff are moonlighting as dealers.

“It has become normal to get not only drinks but also cocaine right there at the bars of the establishments,” he told the Times.

Erick Morillo, meanwhile, has to return to Scotland in March to go on trial.

Its no myth that there are a lot of drugs in the club industry but just who of the major DJ's we know and love take part in their use?
