Above & Beyond presents OceanLab

Many of you will be familiar with OceanLab, Above & Beyond’s project with Justine Suissa, from their club anthems ‘Clear Blue Water’, ‘Sky Falls Down’ and ‘Beautiful Together’.

Even if you’re not, now’s the perfect time to check out the outfit, with the release of their debut album ‘Sirens of the Sea’. Recorded in Ibiza earlier this year, the album reflects both sides of the island as well as the combined musical passions of OceanLab, with a varied mix of blissed out epics and dancefloor cuts.

I can´t even highlight any of the songs because they all follow the same formula, hipnotizing vocals with mesmerizing cheesy sounds, relaxed, ambient and cut versions that appeal to the masses with the single pretense to fill an album with recycled sounds from the previous songs. And this album will be huge, will sell a lot only because it's highly commercial Sad

I had a listen to the previews at www.beatport.com yesterday, but decided not to buy since almost all tracks sounded exactly the same. Rolling Eyes

After Clear Blue Water, Beautiful Together and Sky Falls Down, I pretty much lost interest in the Oceanlab project. Nothing else can touch these so I'm in perpetual disappointment with each new release. Not an album I'll be rushing to buy.
