I took a look in the "What is" section of articles, on the left-side navigation bar, and there is an article called "The Meaning of Music" and also, an article called "Trance" which gives a crew member's perspective on the genre. So take a look and see if that's what you are looking for.
I wrote a brief overview of trance as well, giving my take on the major genres. It's geared for beginners to electronic music. I'm not sure if that is what you are remembering, and I can dig that out for you if that is what you want. Otherwise, take a look at the two articles I mentioned above!

That trance guide is a real headache to get right, but I tweak it every once in a while when I get the energy, so it's slowly improving!
