Post subject: research on music and identity: virtual interview. |
|
|
HI! Hope everything is going well in your respective corners of the party-scene world!
I am currently conducting preliminary research for my thesis that will be on Music and Identity. This is a quick virtual interview: it should not take very long. Feel free to elaborate as much as possible but I know we are all extremely busy people, so if you have time, just reply to this mail and jot down some responses. (Yes and No answers will not help me as I am not looking for quantitative data, not qualitative).
Feel free also, to pass this along to any other electronic music enthusiast.
Thank you in advance for response, and let’s keep the good music coming!
1) How integral is music to your life style?
2) What purpose, if any, do you ascribe to dj-ing, dancing, partying?
3) Does music help people?
4) Is music spiritual?
5) Regarding super star DJs: Given that they are in a position of power, do you believe dj’s should have an obligation to express, political, social, or environmental issues?
6) what is the “party” message?
if you are a DJ:
1) Does music help people?
2) Why do you play the music/style that you do?
3) What is the role of dancers or partygoers in your eyes?
4) Is there an ultimate message you want to spread?
5) Do you help create collective meaning?
6) Is music spiritual?
7) How integral is music to your life style?
what is the “party” message?
