What kind of Electronica goes best with what activities and why. I think psytrance goes best with riding in a car to a swim meet or game. Something like that.

My crew team does hour+ long pieces on the ergometer and puts on proggy trance for it.

A good bit of hard trance (goa/ psi as well, particularly astral projection) really sets the mood nicely for some fragging action in Unreal Tournament 2004. Otherwise I generally have some nice melodic trance on the go while doing stuff on the pc.

Well, as long as working out to music of that tempo doesn't bring my heart rate up to the same bpm. Surprised House and trance are probably the best styles to workout to.
